I create glass art. I feel captivated by both its strength and fragility.
The inspiration for my art comes from the beauty of the Wye Valley, along with meaningful moments in my life. I take delight in crafting textural glass art that inspires the urge to touch. I hand-cut and carefully position pieces of glass before fusing them together in a kiln. Texture, colour, shade and pattern are added through the use of vitreous glass, powdered and crushed glass. I try to use every scrap of glass to reduce waste. I enjoy using painterly effects to create surface decoration. Once fired I also use engraving and sandblasting to add further texture and imagery. I have taught adults and young people for over 25 years and currently run workshops in fused glass. Please contact me for more details. |
