I enjoy creating colourful, semi-abstract images, mostly inspired by the natural landscape surrounding me on my regular walks in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley
I practise a more experimental approach to my photographic artwork, using in-camera techniques such as ICM (intentional camera movement which involves moving the camera during the exposure) and multiple exposures (blending multiple images together, either in camera or during the editing process) to explore patterns, textures, shapes and colours. These techniques produce interesting results which are often unpredictable and unrepeatable (part of their appeal for me) I am also interested in vintage, camera-less processes such as cyanotype printing and lumen printing (or a combination of the two, known as cyanolumen printing), using fresh or dried botanical subjects, collected in the garden or on my woodland walks. |
