Photography has always been at the heart of my creative practice. I originally trained and worked as a sculptor and theatre scenic design where photography was an important tool to both influence and document my designs.
My recent digital works are inspired by my travels, and in particular my local environment of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. I am drawn to texture and structure in my compositions and I enjoy manipulating light and colour to enhance my subject matter. I use a range of techniques including lens filters and multiple and long exposure photography. Printing surfaces are also important and I have been experimenting with a variety of surfaces including aluminium and textured papers. I am currently Director of the Free Painters and Sculptors Collective (FPS London). I am also an experienced tutor and Arts Project Manager, most recently for the national homeless charity Crisis. |
