Eleanor Kercher
I discovered a love of woodwork about 15 years ago when I did an evening class to help me build shelves for my new house. A year later I did my first course in green woodwork - made a chair, a pole lathe and a shaving horse - and I was hooked!
Since then I have been developing my skills. In 2008 I completed a City & Guilds course in furniture production at Ryecotewood Furniture Centre (Oxford College of Further Education) and have done several courses with the inspiring Gudrun Leitz at Clisset Wood near Ledbury. I am a member of the Association of Pole Lathe Turners and Green Woodworkers and I am available for pole lathe demonstrations as well as commissions. I work in my garden and workshop here in Ross using mostly locally sourced wood (and occasionally wood recycled from other places). |
