I create unique pottery pieces like mugs, vases, and bowls by throwing them on a wheel and decorating with a blend of glazes. I strive to make pieces that are both functional and visually appealing. I love the way the glazes blend with each other to create unexpected patterns, no two pots will be the same. I also incorporate images into my ceramics through techniques such as mono printing and screen printing, sometimes adding multiple images to my slab-built forms. Some of my pieces are raku fired which is a technique that originated in Japan during the 1580s. The process involves an intense firing followed by a rapid cooling. It's an exciting process which yields wonderful and unpredictable results.
