CATHERINE ROWLANDS
Casrow Textiles
I have always enjoyed creating things from fabric, starting with embroidery before moving on to making clothes and costumes for school plays.
I discovered a love for patchwork, quilting and its history through the American Petroleum Women’s group in the Middle East.
I spent much of my working life teaching overseas and learning about different cultures, which has led me to be inspired by both colour and pattern.
I love using colour and am intrigued by the way different hues interact and bring energy to a piece.
Currently, I’m creating traditional quilts with a modern twist, along with smaller handcrafted items - all unique in their own way.
