Exhibition of Arts and Crafts From France

I studied fine arts in London taught art classes in schools and ran art workshops in the past. I'm now living in Normandy I have an art studio. In my paintings or drawings I develop my ideas from 2 aspects : an adaptation from nature or places. I try to transmit a message, or an idea often about concerns which are important to me like social, ecological or historical or I simply use landscapes and my surrounding to convey an emotion skills, techniques and of course colours to obtain a result I feel happy with.
Jean François Peslot works on three axes: lights, colours and materials. He likes to differentiate materials in order to obtain the chosen colour. By using different materials this gives various effects, the paint is illusion.. He says " Put colour in your head to make life dancing!"
Marie-Claude Groussard Is a certified contemporary jewellery designer and a member of UBAC in Condé ( fine arts artists group). She works on the themes of the body and the soul with clay, charcoal and water for her paintings as well as her little sculptures, she was first inspired by Africa, she is now developing recessed and weathered shapes of the body evoking the ephemeral human condition.
Josiane Maurer was born in Versailles and arrived in Condé in 1977, today she lives in Vassy a town nearby. She runs a drawing workshop for adults in the fine arts group in Condé. She has a diploma in photography in black and white and colour. She specialises in animal technical drawing. She uses dry pastels. Since 2000 she has exhibited her work in individual and collective exhibitions. She has often been awarded for her work.
For me, the world is still an exciting place where new discoveries, visual stimuli and emotional responses are so important, positive and highly creative experiences. In this way, harnessed to an insatiable curiosity and imagination, I discovered the magic of combining traditional art and photography in my work but never forgetting that the two are very important in their own right.
In particular, I admire photographers such as Steve McCurry, Richard Avedon, Don McCullin, Dorothea Lange, Ansel Adams and Annie Leibovitz and more recently, those photographers who have turned towards digital Art and digital painting such as Christopher Gilbert, Ricardo Bagnoli and Erik Almás.
I hope that the collection shown will bring joy and pleasure

He has become increasingly interested in capturing the unique cultural and industrial heritage of the Forest of Dean. Memories from childhood, growing up in a mining community through the war and a working life spent in the Forest of Dean are evident in his work.
Gerald also has a collection of paintings capturing the spectacular coastline of Cornwall and the fishing villages that have inspired him on many visits.
At the age of 83, Gerald has no plans to retire from painting! He continues to produce work inspired by the local surroundings, displays and sells prints and paintings at local events and regularly accepts commissions.
